Privacy.
This explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it the way we write everything else here — plainly, and without hiding anything in the middle of a long paragraph.
This policy is a working draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not yet binding. Items marked TO CONFIRM are unresolved and must be settled before this page is published.
Who we are
Solvane Limited ("Solvane", "we", "us") is a company registered in Ghana, based in Accra. We build financial software: Solvane Core for banks, and Solvane Pulse for personal wealth.
For the purposes of Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), Solvane Limited is the data controller for the personal data described here.
Registered office: TO CONFIRM — registered office address
Company registration number: TO CONFIRM — registration number
What this covers
This policy covers two different things, and they work very differently:
- This website (solvanesystems.com) — what happens when you browse it or fill in one of our two forms. This part describes how things work today.
- Solvane Pulse, our personal finance app — which has not launched yet. That part of this policy sets out the commitments we are building to, not a description of software you can use today.
Solvane Core runs inside our customers' banks, and the bank — not Solvane — controls the data in it. See Solvane Core below.
The website
There are exactly two ways to give us personal data on this site: the Core demo request form, and the Pulse waitlist. Both are optional. You can read every page without giving us anything.
Why we collect it
To reply to you. A demo request is used to contact you about Solvane Core and arrange a session. A waitlist signup is used to tell you when Pulse is ready, and to note whether you want the founding member rate.
We rely on your consent, which you give by choosing to submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us — see Contact us. We will not add you to a marketing list for something you did not ask about.
How long we keep it
We keep demo requests and waitlist signups until they've served their purpose, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first.
- Waitlist — until Pulse launches and we've told you, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Demo requests — for as long as we're in conversation with you, and for a reasonable period afterwards as a business record.
- If you ask us to delete — we do, and we don't keep a copy.
Specific retention periods: TO CONFIRM — fixed retention periods, e.g. 24 months
Solvane Pulse (the app)
Pulse is not yet available. Nothing in this section describes software you can use today, and none of it is collecting data from you right now. It sets out the commitments we are building to.
Before Pulse launches we will publish a complete, binding Pulse privacy policy — inside the app and on this site — describing exactly what the shipped app does. That policy, not this section, will govern your use of it.
What Pulse is designed to read
Pulse only works if it can see your money, so it is being built to read some genuinely sensitive things — with your permission, and only ever with your permission:
- Mobile money and bank alerts sent to your phone, to turn them into transactions automatically.
- Photographs of receipts that you choose to take.
- Emailed statements and alerts that you choose to forward or connect.
- Payslips that you choose to upload, to build your budget.
- What you type in, including anything you tell the AI coach.
Our commitments
- Your financial data is yours. We will never sell it, and we will never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- Pulse will only read what you explicitly grant it access to, and you will be able to withdraw that access at any time.
- We will always tell you plainly what Pulse reads and why, in the app, at the moment we ask.
- You will be able to export your data, and to delete your account and everything in it.
- We will collect what Pulse needs to do its job, and not more.
Questions we must answer before launch
We would rather leave these visibly open than answer them vaguely. Each will be settled in the binding policy at launch:
- Where your financial data is processed and stored, and whether it leaves Ghana — TO CONFIRM — on-device vs. server processing, hosting region
- Whether your data is sent to a third-party AI provider to power the coach, which provider, and whether it is used to train their models — TO CONFIRM — AI provider, and training / retention terms
- Whether alerts are read on your device or transmitted to us — TO CONFIRM — SMS ingestion architecture
- Whether financial data is encrypted at rest, and who internally can access it — TO CONFIRM — encryption and internal access controls
Solvane Core (bank data)
Solvane Core is deployed inside our customers' banks, on-premise and air-gapped where required. The bank's data never leaves the bank's network, and it never flows to us.
That means where a bank runs Core, the bank is the data controller for everything in it and Solvane is not. If you are a customer of a bank that uses Solvane Core and you have a question about your data, your bank — not Solvane — holds it and can answer you.
This policy therefore does not cover data inside a bank's Core deployment. It covers only what you send us through this website.
Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have rights over your personal data. You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you.
- Correct it if it's wrong or out of date.
- Delete it.
- Stop processing it, including withdrawing consent you previously gave.
- Object to how we're using it.
Email business@solvanesystems.com and we'll act on it. We won't charge you, and we won't make you explain why. We aim to respond within TO CONFIRM — response window, e.g. 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you can complain to Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
If you're outside Ghana, additional rights may apply to you under your local law, and we'll honour them where they do.
Security
The site is served over TLS, so what you type into a form is encrypted in transit. Form submissions are stored on our host and access to them is limited to the people at Solvane who need it.
We'd rather be honest than reassuring: no system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise. What we will do is not collect what we don't need — which is the only security measure that never fails.
Children
Solvane's products are not directed at children, and this website is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes
When we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If we ever make a change that materially affects what we do with your data — particularly when Pulse launches — we won't rely on you noticing a date. We'll tell you directly.
Contact us
For anything about your data — access, correction, deletion, or just a question about this page — write to business@solvanesystems.com. A person reads it.
